A vital component of our work as professional Archivalists, Picture Framers and Curators of beautiful artworks, is our printing services.  

The Art and Framing Company has a dedicated print department whose sole purpose is to provide our customers with the highest standard of professional, archival quality printing.  

As proud owners of the latest in Epson large format printers, we can produce fine art archival prints of up to 64” (150cm) in width by almost any size in length. We use archival Epson inks which ensures all reproductions hold true to the artists vision, both in its clarity and vibrancy. 

There are many different ways to organize having your images, artwork and photographs professionally printed by us. We recommend using either our easy to use Print Your Own service or by filling out an online Print Order Form:

Photo Matte Paper | 240gsm    

A beautiful uncoated matte finish stock that allows high ink absorption, perfect for letting the natural quality of an image to speak for itself. True to colour, this product is popular with both artists and galleries and is a personal favourite of The Art and Framing Company.

Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth | 305gsm

 An especially smooth and silky soft paper for high-quality FineArt inkjet printing. The white cotton art paper has a discreet, very finely textured surface with a strikingly silky feel. The matte premium inkjet coating guarantees extraordinary print results with impressive reproduction of colour, detail and very deep black. Photo Rag® Ultra Smooth is versatile and produces impressive results for FineArt photography as well as art reproductions. The acid- and lignin-free all-rounder meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance and is perfect for high-quality black and white FineArt prints.


Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Baryta | 315gsm

 A pure cotton paper with an inkjet coating that has been perfectly optimised for the needs of FineArt applications. The natural white paper comes in a pleasant, warm shade of white and contains no optical brighteners. The exquisite surface texture gives the paper a lovely, delicate feel while at the same time lending it an artistic note. In combination with the high-gloss premium inkjet coating, it produces stunning print results with outstanding reproduction of colour and detail, deep blacks and perfect contrasts. The barium sulphate in the coating makes Photo Rag® Baryta a popular alternative to analogue baryta paper. The combination of the cotton artist paper and the high-gloss inkjet coating lends FineArt prints a striking character with a beautiful, elegant sheen, without glare. Hahnemuhle Fineart Baryta | 325gsm

A bright white, cellulose-based FineArt inkjet paper with an inkjet coating specially tailored for FineArt use. The clearly visible, exquisite felt structure lends the paper its lovely soft feel and tactile surface texture to produce prints with a stunning three-dimensional quality and depth. The high-gloss premium inkjet coating guarantees outstanding print results with perfect reproduction of colour and detail, deep blacks and striking contrasts. The barium sulphate within the coating gives FineArt Baryta the feel of a traditional analogue baryta paper and makes it a popular alternative for inkjet printing.  Hahnemuhle German Etching (Textured) | 310gsm

 A traditional mould-made copperplate printing paper, complete with an inkjet coating designed especially for FineArt applications. The white art paper made from 100% alpha cellulose is characterised by its extraordinary velvety tactile feel and its fine, clearly defined felt structure. The unique surface texture adds a very special touch to images, showcasing them in all their splendour with impressive three-dimensional effect and depth. The premium matt inkjet coating guarantees outstanding print results with excellent reproduction of colour and detail, deep black and optimum contrasts. German Etching is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance. Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Satin | 310gsm

An exceptional highlight to the Photo Rag® range and lends FineArt prints a highly individual character. The white cotton paper features the classic Photo Rag® surface with a delicate felt structure and a beautifully soft feel. In combination with the satin-gloss premium inkjet coating, it produces outstanding prints with a beautiful sense of depth and three-dimensional quality. Colours and details are perfectly reproduced, the depth of the black truly stands out and contrasts are reproduced with stunning effect. Photo Rag® Satin is characterised by its very unique coating. The printed areas have a soft sheen, while the unprinted areas remain matt to beautifully accentuate brilliance. Gloss, satin & Metallics

Chromajet PhotoPro Satin | 240gsm

microporous resin-coated paper that is quick drying and wipefast. Offers high colour fidelity and very high batch to batch stability. Ideal for photographic prints and premium poster applications. With a subtle satin sheen, this stock is perfect for clarity and depth of colour. 

 Chromajet PhotoPro Gloss | 240gsm

This high gloss stock is perfect for images that require vivid colours and intense blacks. Chromajet Gloss has the look and feel of a traditional silver halide photo paper because of its true photographic resin coated substrate base. The paper is specifically designed for high quality professional photographic output and boasts a 90 year archival rating. 

 Chromajet PhotoPro Metallic | 240gsm

 A premium stock with a unique pearlescent surface finish. The finish is similar to traditional silver-halide metallic photographic papers and offers exceptional image clarity and brilliant colour reproduction with a cool, high-gloss metallic finish with a blue iridescence. This media has an excellent black density, huge colour gamut volume. It is also quick drying and wipefast with high moisture resistance. The 100% virgin fibre media is sourced from sustainable forests and has received the Nordic Swan Award; the most demanding ecological mark in international paper.  


Centurion Photo Gloss | 285gsm

An ultra-smooth, super white, high gloss stock that has the look and feel of a traditional silver halide photo paper because of its true photographic resin coated substrate base. The paper is specifically designed for high quality professional photographic output. It has an increased colour gamut, deeper black density and improved scuff resistance. Unlike other papers on the market the optical brighteners have been incorporated into the RC base. This unique feature means the paper will be more resistant to fading and yellowing. Optical brighteners can breakdown overtime due to sunlight exposure, moving the OBA’s to the base, gives the paper stronger archival characteristics. 

Centurion Photo Satin | 285gsm 
High quality photographic paper perfect for obtaining brilliant colours with a satin finish. Centurion Satin is 100% virgin fibre, sourced from sustainable forests. It has been awarded the Nordic Swan Award – the most ecological mark in international paper. 



CANVAS STOCK

Hahnemuhle Daguerre Canvas Matt | 400gm 

matt coated, poly-cotton inkjet canvas with a fine, uniform surface texture. The bright white canvas is characterised by its high degree of whiteness. When combined with the premium matt inkjet coating, it produces clean, fresh colours, fine details and black and white reproductions that are rich in contrast. Daguerre Canvas is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance. Despite its high grammage, the canvas has excellent stretch properties and is ideal for mounting on canvas stretcher frames.

HELIXx® Eclipse Premium Canvas| 320gsm

polycotton canvas with a bright white, smooth matte finish with a wide colour gamut. This canvas stock is water resistance with good UV/increased fade resistance.  Suitable for flat artworks or for stretching over a canvas frame. This stock stretches without cracking for a seamless texture.


PREPARING YOUR ARTWORK FOR PRINT

Need something printed or printed and framed and unsure where or how to start? Use these steps below as a guide or contact our team. Whether over the phone, via email or a face to face consultation, our staff will be able to talk you through your options and help you get your project started.

1. Prepare your file: The professional standard for file resolution is 300 dpi ( Dots Per Inch or Pixels Per Inch). We advise that you stick to this resolution and set your file up to your desired size.

2. Save your file: We can print  from most file types; png, psd, jpeg, pdf or tiff. Our preferred file is tiff as it is a file type that holds the most information.  

3. Upload your file: Upload your file by clicking the upload button in the Print Your Own service or provide a link to your files in the Print Order Form

Still not sure how to set up your file or if your image is of a high enough quality to print? Don’t panic! Our team is always available to give you advice and help you get print ready.

What Happens Next ?

Production: Once we’ve received your files and your order has been finalized, we get to work. We aim to provide our customers with a speedy turn around but please be aware that we may be restricted by demand on our service or the nature of the stock used.  We do not offer same day printing as archival prints require a minimum of 24hrs to cure. If your order involves printing and framing, please allow an additional 2-3 for production.

Finishing: Prints orders are carefully rolled in acid free wrapping and tubed. Print and Frame orders are wrapped in bubble wrap for in-store pickups or boxed for shipping. Please let us know if you require shipping or if you intend to pick up in store so we can invoice and process your order accordingly. Once your order has been completed you will be notified by our team. 

PRINT HANDLING & CARE

 All our prints are handled with the utmost of care. From printing to packaging, our prints are scrutinized by our production team to ensure you receive a pristine product.   Your beautiful new print is very delicate and it is our reccomendation that it should only be handled and removed from its packaging by your intended professional framer.   Any creases or imperfections are not the responsibility of The Art and Framing Company.
